Gift creates scholarships for art students
A gift of $750,000 from the estate of Edna Kelly, a former resident of Centerville, will be used to establish the Edna M. Kelly Scholarship Fund to support fine arts students at Miami University.

The resources of the Miami University School of Fine Arts enrich the lives of people in the Miami and Oxford communities through a lively array of theatre, musical productions, exhibits, and performances. The School is distinctive among universities in terms of the quality and breadth of its programs and professional degrees in music, art, architecture, interior design, and theatre. Both inside and outside the classroom, the School equips students with tools to succeed in a changing world.

Endowed Scholarships and Fellowships
$2 million

The School seeks to increase the diversity of its student body, matriculate the best students, and help students with financial need. Fellowships attract graduate students who represent the next generation of leadership in the arts, design, and architecture.

Why I Give to Miami...
Brandon HenslerDr. Bausano invited me to attend the Chamber Singers reunion during Alumni Weekend. Although I cannot make it due to a work conflict, I wanted to give what I can. The Chamber Singers was a very important part of my time at MU, especially as a non-music major.

Endowed Chairs and Faculty Development
$5 million

The School must compete for outstanding faculty with prestigious institutions that offer endowed positions. These positions provide support for salary and for creative work and scholarship. Through the campaign, the School seeks to fund one endowed faculty position in each of its four divisions.

Student Enrichment and Programs
$8 million

Technology and Equipment
The School seeks to maintain its position as a leader in exploring the interface between technology and the arts.

Production, Exhibit, and Visiting Artist Endowment
Income from a robust endowment will underwrite the costs of extending the arts to the University community and the region through music, theater, and the visual arts. Visiting artists will enrich not only education for Fine Arts students, but also the University's cultural life through performances, workshops, and lectures.

Fine Arts imagePrograms and Enrichment
Miami provides more opportunities than many other programs in the Fine Arts for students to learn through travel. The School seeks to continue this tradition by expanding study abroad opportunities, Spring Break in New York, and traveling student performances, and by assuring that students may participate without regard to financial need.

Fine Arts imageMiami University Center for the Arts
$15 million

The Miami University Center for the Arts (MUCA) will be a unique student-focused facility housing a variety of performing arts venues, gallery space, and student dining hall. Designed by Boston architect William Rawn, MUCA will be international, multidisciplinary, and multimedia in its design and operation. This new center will embrace the changing curriculum and technology of the 21st century and be a new hub for campus life at Miami.
